Merry Christmas!

The entire month of December is filled with so much holiday fun and cheer! Although we often forget what Christmas is all about, due to the commercialization of gift giving, shopping, Santa Claus, etc. over the years, let’s remember the true meaning of Christmas.

I, myself, went to Catholic School my whole life and while I won’t sit here and type up every detail of the story about Mary, Joseph, 3 wise men following the North Star, and God’s son being born in a manger (because to be completely honest those are about the only real details I remember), I will say that Christmas is not just about the gifts, Santa Claus, going on holiday vacation, etc. it’s about the birth of Jesus Christ -our savior. Yes, it is also about spending time with loved ones and cherishing moments with family and friends that we may not have “the time” to so much during the rest of the year and being grateful for our blessings, etc. Sure – gifts, vacations, Santa Claus, and all other “commercialized” Christmas traditions are fun, cute, and totally awesome! BUT let’s remember that there is so much more to the Christmas and advent season, starting with counting our blessings, cherishing loved ones, and honoring Jesus Christ.

**I will HOWEVER say that you do not need to be extremely religious- Christian/Catholic and all other related denominations specifically- to celebrate Christmas. But for those who DON’T at least have similar religious ideas or views, let me remind you that Christmas is a religious holiday. Take that informations as you wish…..
