From Bikinis to Outfits – The Hottest Summer Trend

A few weeks ago, I modeled for the blogger and on-aire fashionista, Kelly Saks, on NBC 6 in the Mix where she styled some of the cutest summer outfits combining bikinis and essential summer pieces.

Although the first day of summer isn’t technically until June 21, it feels like we’re already there. Whether you’re staying home or going on vacation this summer, you’ll probably end up in a bikini at some point. Let’s face it, most of us are known to over pack when going on vacation – even if it’s a 24 hour get-away. Here’s a little tip inspired by Kelly to prevent you from over packing for your beach/summer trips: Double your bikinis as outfits.

This first bikini is from Frankies Bikinis and is super cute and comfortable for a long day at the beach. The crop-top style bikini top can be paired with jeans, shorts, or even a skirt for dinner after the beach or just a cute outfit to hangout in. Here, I paired it with comfy shoes, a beach bag, a flamingo fan as an accessory and a cute, white cover up (I couldn’t find my white skirt, but you get the idea).

In my next outfit, I’m also wearing a Frankies Bikinis swim suit. Size small is no longer available in this color on the site, but you might be able to find it in a different shade. Oh, and it’s on sale! I paired it with bell bottom jeans from Valija and some statement earrings to give it a retro-chic vibe.

The next outfit is for the grungie/streetstyle aesthetic type of girl. I paired this reversible black and wolf print top from Maheli Heli and bikini bottom from Kynd Swim with faux leather/vinyl style joggers from Bloomingdales and Nike Air Force Ones. Find a similar style halter bikini top here.

For my final outfit, I decided to style a one piece from, you guys guessed it: Frankies Bikinis. This one-piece was one of the first styles she came up with and it flatters many body types. For this summer look, I kept it casual and beachy by pairing a flowy pair of shorts with some gold sandals to the blue one-piece.

There are so many outfits we can come up with just from mixing and matching clothes in our own closet or borrowing certain pieces or accessories from family and friends. Tag me in your posts on Instagram or Twitter mixing and matching your bikinis with summer outfits!
